Maryellen Stipe

MA, LPC

Owner, Director, Counselor

Maryellen is the leader of our faith-based counseling center. She specializes in women's issues and counseling education. Maryellen supervises counselors in training from Colorado Christian University.

Maryellen obtained her Master of Arts in Counseling from Denver Seminary. In addition, she served as the Director of the Women's Ministry at Crossroads Church of Denver for over forty years. Maryellen has a longstanding spiritual reputation from serving alongside her late husband, Tom Stipe. She continues to preach and serve in her community today while also continuing her counseling career and helping to sculpt new counselors in training.

Jesse Spaun

MA, LPCC, NCC

Counselor, Administrator

Jesse obtained his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University in 2022. He is also a National Certified Counselor.

Jesse enjoys working with adults and couples, as well as teens and families. He applies person-centered, cognitive behavioral, existential, and psychodynamic therapies. He is passionate about providing a transformative relationship through coming alongside others and walking with them through life’s struggles.

Dayron Blackwell

MA, LPC

Counselor

Dayron attained his Master of Arts in Counseling from Colorado Christian University. Dayron approaches all individuals, understanding that their circumstances are unique to every individual. However, Mr. Blackwell uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), existential therapy (ET), and narrative therapy because, through symptom-focused interventions, a person can target behavior to compete against emotional stressors.

It is essential that through approaching every client individually and by using listening, empathy, compassion, and support, those in need will acquire effective techniques in treating depression, anxiety disorders, and numerous phobias.

Shea Mauser

Counseling Intern

Shea is a graduate student at Colorado Christian University and is actively pursuing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Shea loves working with children, adolescents, teens, and young adults. She utilizes play therapy, talk therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy as well as a person-centered approach. She has a passion for sports, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and spiritual development.

Tatum Jackson

Counseling Intern

Tatum is a graduate student at Colorado Christian University and is actively pursuing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Tatum enjoys working with a wide range of clientele such as the homeless population, survivors of trauma, and individuals with disabilities. She utilizes somatic therapy, narrative therapy, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy. Tatum is passionate about helping others heal and finding their voice through mindfulness and grounding techniques.
